A pleasure to read, and has me back (once again, as ever) listening to my Leonard Cohen playlist. I had thought the same thing about Hallelujah so was surprised to read that the original live was better, I don't think i'll be taking the Buckley version off my Leonard Cohen playlist anytime soon though. *fingers and toes crossed* he tours somewhere near me one day.
