i appreciate the dig at administrators, but really, it's impossible to teach something properly if you can't do it yourself. except, possibly, gymnastics, because i have seen coaches teach gymnasts things quite competently that they couldn't do themselves.

I wonder sometimes if what we're missing of late Roman writings etc is all the stuff about setting standards and getting measurable results to show the Senators of the other party that the Emperor's chaps were getting children better educated than their predecessors, and how the expensive Greek tutors should be accessible to Romans of any income group ...
