irony glorious irony

In response to my effusive thanks on being told my visa is approved, immigration case-worker (the one needing verification I speak English) replies

"Your welcome"

My head exploded.

I can only imagine that it's a truncated form of:

"Your welcome into the country is our responsibility."

... or suchlike.

Anyhow, I'm delighted to hear the good news.

Wonderful news!

I really do appreciate the irony, though...

See my comment on your previous where I refer to numbwits and that 60% ...

I wonder sometimes if what we're missing of late Roman writings etc is all the stuff about setting standards and getting measurable results to show the Senators of the other party that the Emperor's chaps were getting children better educated than their predecessors, and how the expensive Greek tutors should be accessible to Romans of any income group ...

i appreciate the dig at administrators, but really, it's impossible to teach something properly if you can't do it yourself. except, possibly, gymnastics, because i have seen coaches teach gymnasts things quite competently that they couldn't do themselves.

Oops, sorry!
