I was moderately dubious about the whole Garfield sans Garfield idea, because I am rather fond of Garfield. But ... these are just fabulous.

The Guardian runs a similar thing to the Overheard in New York every Saturday, but I have yet to work out whether they're made up or not. Having read some of these, however, I'm beginning to think not.

Overheard is marvellous (though often smutty), but the sheer number and range suggest they are for real.
