Is anyone else getting nasty ads from LJ that take over your browser pretending to 'look for malware'? I've had to force quit the program twice today and it's seriously irritating.
ETA: from other data points, it seems this is the effect of me subcoming to the ads account (so I could have more than 6 icons!) without coughing up for a paid account. My sincere apologies to anyone whose browser is being suspended in animation by these evil ads!

I haven't seen one since adding *.malware-scan.com/* to my adblock filter list, but that might just be a happy coincidence of timing - I'll let you know if one does get through.

Date: 2008-04-22 12:19 pm (UTC)Separately: I have a free-no-ads account, but that doesn't completely solve the problem; if you're looking at the journal page for someone with a 'plus' ad-based account (rather than reading stuff on your flist) then you can still get hit with the nasty stuff. OTOH, having killed Ffox without touching the window after it was hijacked, it doesn't appear to have done any harm.
